People are cray cray!

I started noticing a tilting toward bonkers years ago while babysitting the children of NYC’s elite. Sometimes, the little darling’s parents lost their ever-loving minds about petty issues. I created a one-person show called Nannyhood, (directed by John Michael Higgins of Best in Show), where I showed just how kookie fancy rich folks can be.

Since then, I've had 3 kids of my own. Through playdates, morning drop offs, soccer games, piano, gymnastics, and Hebrew lessons, I looked around and noticed that all the grown-up nurturers around me were a tad loco. A touch cracked in the head. One hinge short of a nuthouse door. I look to the broader scope of my life and I’ve realized that it ain’t just parents, it’s everybody! The check-out lady at the grocery store, the high-powered lawyer, the lady on the treadmill next to me at the gym, all of us have quirks that if discovered could easily land us in a hospital for 24-hour observation. Luckily, film, musical theatre, sketch comedy, improv and voice-over are my world, so I find this madness delicious.

I’ve portrayed everything from a mild mannered. frustrated girlfriend who has her ex killed because he stalks her using invisibility cream (like ya do) in Poison Petals, Stolen Lipstick directed by Michael Goorjian (Party of Five); a crotchety, grizzled western town crier, Old Mary in Cheyenne, written by Liz Tuccillo (Sex and the City, He’s Just Not that Into You); to an anxious, overzealous mom in a series of sit-com style commercials for Microsoft with Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Gates (I know!) and David Costabile (directed by Brian Buckley). I am a proud member of Skeleton Crew Theaterworks and Film, headed up by Adam Marcus of Jason Goes To Hell acclaim, which gives me great opportunities to explore characters who have an itsy-bitsy bit of bananas in them. I recently booked the music video GURU where I transform from a run-of-the-mill yoga student to an off-the-charts yoga Goddess! (Photo below.)

In a nutshell (see what I did there?) I love locating the looney in every character I create.
